I have started republishing selected writing from 2025 on The Keris Collector website under a new Revisited archive.
The idea is simple.
I do not want to copy old Facebook posts into a permanent archive and pretend that nothing has changed.
So each piece is being revisited with fresh eyes.
What still holds up?
What needs qualification?
What needs stronger references?
What did I get wrong?
What does newer evidence allow us to say now?
The original writing is preserved substantially as it appeared, but each piece is now accompanied by updated commentary and revision where necessary.
The essays are being revisited in batches and will be published weekly as we work through the 2025 material.
This is also part of a larger effort.
There has been strong encouragement for me to eventually compile my essays into a published work. Rather than rush old Facebook posts straight into print, I think the responsible thing is to review them first, update the references, correct what needs correcting, and see what kind of book the material actually deserves to become.
A big thank you as well to my hardworking interns, who have been helping with the uploads, organisation and the less visible work behind rebuilding this archive.
And yes, I also use AI as part of my current workflow, mainly to help with structure, organisation and efficiency.
But the arguments remain mine.
The judgement remains mine.
And the responsibility for checking facts, references, context and the final published text remains mine.
AI can assist the process. It should not replace intellectual responsibility. Nor should polished machine-generated prose be mistaken for research simply because it has been packaged as a book.
