Where might the object come from? Are the blade and fittings culturally or chronologically consistent? What can construction tell us? What claims are supported? What information is missing?
Collector Advisory helps structure those questions and identify what can reasonably be understood from the evidence available.
Where We Begin
A good advisory conversation does not begin with certainty.
It begins with observation.

What has been documented?
What has been assumed?
What does the object appear to tell us, and which parts of the story still need evidence?
The aim is not to produce a dramatic answer.
It is to improve the collector’s understanding of the object and the questions surrounding it.

What can be concluded depends entirely on the quality of the material and access available.
Evidence Before Attribution
Collectors often receive confident descriptions of objects.
Age.
Origin.
Royal association.
Rare material.
Named maker.
Spiritual significance.
Sometimes those claims are well supported.
Sometimes they are not.
The Keris Collector does not repeat an attribution simply because it sounds established.
Where evidence is weak, conflicting or absent, we will say so.

We do not manufacture certainty where the available evidence does not support it.
An advisory opinion is based on the photographs, documentation, physical access and comparative material available at the time.
Where laboratory analysis, conservation, legal advice or other specialist expertise is required, the appropriate professional should be consulted.
